Collagenartig haben wir mit Ausschnitten aus 43 Live-Webcam Bildern eine Fassade, einen Platz, eine Landschaft und einen Baum zusammen gebaut. Wir verwenden Webcams aus dem Internet, die in verschiedensten Ländern rund um die Welt ihren Standort haben.
Die projizierten Bilder werden fortlaufend über das Internet aktualisiert, verändern sich immerzu und zeigen wie es an den entsprechenden Orten zur Jetzt-Zeit aussieht. Zu sehen ist ein patchwork artiges Live-Übertragungs-Bild.
Der Begriff der Distanz spielt in dieser Arbeit eine zentrale Rolle. Die Elemente haben zueinander verschiedene Distanzen.
Einmal zeigen wir einen Blick aus der Ferne wie bei der «Landschaft». Beim «Baum» haben wir für eine Nahsicht close up Ausschnitte aus kurzer Distanz gewählt.
Verschiedenste Distanzen weisen die einzelnen Bildteile untereinander auf, wenn z.B. wie bei der «Fassade» Monthey neben Madrid und Madrid neben Sapporo platziert sind.
Betrachterinnen und Betrachter finden sich zwischen alldem wieder, den projizierten Bildern, dem verteilten Laub zu Füssen. Die Distanz zum Laub auf dem Boden der Galerie ist die Kürzeste.
In the form of collages, we have built a facade, a square, a lanscape with excerpts from 43 live webcam images. We use webcams from the internet that are located in various countries around the world.
The projected images are continuously updated over the internet, change all the time and show what it looks like in the corresponding places at the current time. You can see a patchwork-like live image transmission.
The concept of distance plays a central role in this work. The elements have different distances to one another.
Once we show a view from afar as in the «landscape». For the «tree» we have chosen close up clips.
The individual parts of the image have diverse distances from one another, as for example in „Facade“ where Monthey is located next to Madrid and Madrid next to Sapporo.
Viewers find theirselves in between all this, that is, between the projected images and the leaves spread at their feet. The distance to the leaves on the floor of the gallery is the shortest.
From far away we can perceive the „real“ locations of the images that are transmitted through the internet almost in real-time. The timing of what happens in these places coincides with our perception of things, so that it is as if we were looking through a telescope.
